Being a Hertfordshire wedding photographer, I enjoy the challenges of shooting weddings throughout the year; during the spring and summer months where the days are long and the parties are hard, in autumn with the beautiful colours from the falling leaves and in winter when weddings are possibly the trickiest with the cold weather and short daylight hours.
Mary and Nick were a bit concerned about their wedding photography at St Bart`s as they had decided to get married in January. While saying that I love photographing winter weddings is an understatement, I was truly hoping to shoot one this year.
Anyone lucky to know Mary and Nick will describe them as a happy, down to earth and fun to be around. More often than not, I get asked what my style of photography is, what my level of experience is in shooting weddings and if I am insured. All Mary and Nick wanted to know was if I was available for their special wedding day. They loved my mixed style wedding photography (documentary wedding photography mixed with some modern artistic wedding photos with some added fun elements) and my ‘can do’ attitude. I felt extremely lucky and privileged when Mary and Nick chose me to capture their day.
A few weeks later, on the wedding day, Mary arrived at the church in a red London bus with her bridesmaid and everyone was ready to rock the day. After a beautiful ceremony we jumped straight onto the bus and headed to Farringdon for the wedding reception, held at St Bart`s Brewery. St. Bart’s is a stunning wedding venue in the heart of The City of London. With its beautiful interior design, state-of-the-art sound and light facilities making it a truly wonderful wedding venue.
This place was a perfect match to Mary and Nick`s personality and everyone attending had a truly amazing evening there. After the lovely meal we went out into the cold and dark night for some couple portraits. Being an experienced wedding photographer I was up for the challenge and you can see the results in the images below.
Thank you to Soven for assisting me on the day and a big thank you to Mary and Nick for allowing me to be a part of their day, I wish them a very happy and beautiful married life together.
